Stay Permit in Indonesia

Foreign citizen came from foreign countries who is currently residing in Indonesia, is required to apply and to obtain specific stay permit on behalf of his or her self. The Indonesian stay permit can be applied to the nearest Indonesian Immigration authority, by supplying the required civil or working documentations in order to enlist the applicant biographical information's. There are numerous stay permit that can be applied by the applicant, but in most cases, the type of stay permit would be equal to the type of visa that the applicant is currently hold.

 

Generally, an Indonesian stay permit would have variety of expiration, which starts from one year consecutively up to five years continuously. Depending on the applicant purpose of staying, an Indonesian stay permit can always be extended by re-applying the application to the nominated Indonesian Immigration authority. 

 

INDONESIAN KITAS

An Indonesian kITAS or Limited stay permit is valid for One year continuously, this type of stay permit is given under certain particular conditions as stipulated by the Indonesian immigration provisions. 

 

INDONESIAN KITAP

An Indonesian KITAP or permanent stay permit is valid for five years consecutively, this type of stay permit is the continuations stay permit for a foreigner who is previously hold an Indonesian Limited stay permit. Holder of an The Indonesian KITAP can stay on an Indonesian territory & may extend The KITAP within the next five years when it has expired.

 

On some particular cases, the following certain foreigner is not obliged to possess or to extend an Indonesian stay permit during his or her stay in Indonesia:

  1. A foreigner who is currently under criminal prosecutions by the authorized Indonesian law enforcement, or currently being in jail, undergo a trial, or facing any type of criminal charges;
  2. A foreigner who possess a special license under the law, to be outside of the Indonesian immigration detention house;
  3. A foreigner who is residing in Indonesia, as a victim of human trafficking crime.
