Indonesian Birth Certifications

birth certification in IndonesiaAn Indonesian birth certificate is an Indonesian certification for a newly-born baby. In Indonesia, a birth certificate is the first certificate or identification made in regards to the child's civil and legal status. In Indonesia, every parents is require to register and to certify the born of their babies to the authorized Indonesian civil institutions within the first sixty (60) days since the baby was born, in turn the authorized Indonesian civil institution will issue the Indonesian birth certificate for the said child.

 

The Indonesian civil, population and administration law stipulates that there are specific requirements that needs to be acquired in order to register a newly-born babies, which are:

  1. An original birth reference certificate, which is issued by a hospital or the place where the biological mother is delivering the baby;
  2. An original birth reference from the village office;
  3. A legalized copy of the biological parents marriage certificate;
  4. The biological parents Indonesian ID Card or similar proof of identity;
  5. The Biological parents Indonesian family card or similar proof of identity;

The above requirements mostly valid, should the registration for the birth is conducted within the given sixty (60) days since the baby was born and an additional court order must be applied if the registration is conducted afterwards or have exceed to given time frame.

The applicant or the attorney may file a legal petition to The Local Indonesian District court, which covers the legal domicile of the biological parents, and that the applicant is requires to present the following supporting documentations:

  1. The Biological mother valid ID Card;
  2. The biological mother valid family card;
  3. The covering letter from The Civil Registry Office;
  4. The reference letter from the village office;
  5. The Birth Reference from the hospital where the biological mother is delivering the baby;
  6. The biological parents marriage certificate;
  7. During the court session, the applicant is require to present at least two witnesses to be heard on the court.
